Battersea House

The private residential property located in Battersea, London, is an ex converted Boys and Girls Victorian terraced school building.

The General Arrangement was to re-configure the existing Basement for its Open Plan Kitchen and Living area; Reception, Dining and Sitting room at Ground Floor and 2 bedrooms with en-suites on both the Mezzanine and Loft Floors.

In addition of strategic lighting to fit within the desired minimalist aesthetics, a truly artistic design complete with bespoke furniture making spatial organisation a top priority. The custom designed staircases were a key design feature fostering continuity throughout the house and projecting a sense of openness.

The design dialogue was carried through to the bedroom where the original ceiling beams were exposed. Timeless steel girders bring in an industrial element with respect to the history of the building, and blend seamlessly into the modern clean lines of the design.
